Two goals in added time from Marquinhos and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting sealed the most dramatic of victories for PSG in the UEFA Champions League as the French league champions secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Atalanta in the quarter-final.
The win sets up a potential semi-final fixture for the French capital team against the winners of the second quarter-final clash between RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid.
The Italian’s were in the driving seat having taken a 27th-minute lead, Mario Pasalic with a left footed finish past Keylor Navas.
Brazilian superstar Neymar was the Parisian’s biggest threat, but he was guilty of missing a sitter early on as the free scoring Atalanta side were on the brink of an historic first-ever UEFA Champions League semi-final spot.
However, the introduction of Keylian Mbappe and the withdrawal of the ineffective Mauro Icardi sparked PSG into life as they dominated possession which eventually saw Atalanta crumble under sustained pressure.
The impressive Neymar setup compatriot Marquinhos to level for PSG before Mbappe’s pass allowed fellow substitute Choupo-Moting tap into the back of the net, sealing a first semi-final placement in 25 years for the French team in the competition.
